Welcome to the first developer blog for Arcade Spirits: The New Challengers! We're looking to have a new blog post up (almost) every Tuesday, introducing a new character or a new feature that you can look forward to in the next title from Fiction Factory Games. This week we're starting out with our first of the core six who hang around Good Clean Fun -- her name is Grace, and she's ready to say hello!
Let's get to know her, shall we? It's time for the interview!
"Ah, hello! My name is Grace Cooper. My online handle is, uh, basically just Grace. I mean, I tried to fit in the name of my Mr. Moopy OC, Miss Gwendylxionne, but the character limit on discomfort.fist's profile form wouldn't allow it. I'm 24 years old and a Gemini!"
"Oh, I've been playing since closed beta. My big sister -- ah, she's the VP of Cooper Technologies -- knew someone on the development team. She knew I liked games and offered me the key, and I figured, well, why not? It's a very simple game, I've found. All you have to do is press the right buttons at the right times and you'll do just fine. I'm not sure why that's so hard for most people, but, uh, admittedly my mind sort of breaks down optimization problems for fun whenever I'm bored so I guess I adapted naturally to it. Honestly though, I don't really play much FOD2 -- my friends love it, and I love supporting my friends, but it's not a game I'm really focused on. Still, it gives me something to talk about whenever I visit my big brother Gavin's arcade! Not that he plays FOD2, I mean. But people who play there do, and I like having things to talk about. Like, in general. Y'know. I like chatting with people."
"I... am not currently at liberty to discuss any matters concerning Iris due to my non-disclosure agreement."
"I am really, really not at liberty to discuss any matters concerning Iris due to my non-disclosure agreement. ...can we please talk about something else?"
"Ohhh, I love retro console games! I have a full set of consoles at my best friend's apartment. All the classics -- the NES, the SNES, the Genesis, the original Nintendo PlayStation, and the Sega Neptune! It's the RPGs on the Neptune that really draw me in. The 'Tales of...' series, in particular. I'm making my own RPG, you know! It's going to be simply amazing, a full open world, NPCs that lead their own lives with A.I. routines, crafting, trading, all sorts of great stuff...!"
"Ummm..."
"When it's, um, done. I'm not done yet. I've got a lot to do. There's always a lot to do. If you'll excuse me, I really should get back to it... ah, but I hope you do come by Good Clean Fun again! It's a wonderful arcade, and my friends are just the best. And be sure to ask Ben and Matt for a pizza bagel surprise! That one's my favorite."
